General Description/Position Summary:  

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) creates qualified customer engagement, sales opportunities, and new-account momentum through focused outbound activity. The SDR researches and prioritizes target accounts, engages dormant, underpenetrated, and strategic prospects, qualifies commercial potential, and engages to identify opportunities. Success requires curiosity, persistence, sound judgment, and consistent use of NetSuite to capture customer intelligence and next actions. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and prioritize target accounts using customer value, growth potential, strategic fit, engagement history, and whitespace opportunity.
  • Execute outbound prospecting through telephone, email, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, supplier campaigns, and other approved channel
  • Work from defined pools of growth accounts and prospects, including dormant, underpenetrated, and strategic accounts, and advance them through the established qualification and handoff process.
  • Develop relevant outreach messaging based on account research, market conditions, supplier initiatives, and known customer needs.
  • Qualify customer fit, business need, timing, stakeholders, commercial potential, and an agreed next step.
  • Schedule and support qualified discovery meetings with Sales leadership, Field Sales, or other appropriate stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain accurate account, contact, activity, task, opportunity, customer-intelligence, and next-action records in NetSuite.
  • Use NetSuite tasks and dashboards as the primary execution queue for daily outreach, follow-up, and pipeline management.
  • Follow accepted opportunities through early-stage progression and support re-engagement when momentum stalls.
  • Collaborate with Customer Account Specialists, Field Sales, Product, Marketing, and Sales Operations to coordinate account strategy.
  • Participate in supplier campaigns, win-back initiatives, and other assigned business-development programs.
  • Adhere to the company core values and mission and perform other duties as directed by management.


Performance Expectations:

  • Qualified meetings held and accepted opportunities created.
  • Qualified pipeline value, reactivated accounts, and early-stage opportunity progression.
  • Consistent completion of assigned outreach, follow-up, and account-research activities.
  • NetSuite record completeness and currentness, including timely next actions and documented handoffs; this is a required performance and incentive-eligibility standard.
  • Provide cross-functional coverage for Customer Account Specialist responsibilities such as workload, staffing, or business needs require, including lead and RFQ routing, customer communication, quote and order coordination, NetSuite task and record maintenance, and post-sales follow-up within established processes and assigned authority.


Minimum Educational Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • One to three years of sales development, inside sales, customer service, account management, or related commercial experience preferred.
  • Experience in electronic components distribution, technology, manufacturing, or another business-to-business environment is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Tools, Equipment, Software:

  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); advanced Excel skills desired.
  • Communication platforms - Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • ERP / CRM software - NetSuite or a comparable account, activity, task, quote, order, and opportunity management system.
  • ECM software / shared company drive and modern cloud-based file management tools.
  • Networking and sales-intelligence platforms - LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, and related tools.
  • Adobe.
